I’m lucky to have some pretty incredible friends. Out-of-this-world talented, inspiring, clever, generous, and wonderful people. Two of them are Emily & Rachael, and they have created an incredible thing called A Bit More Soul. Version 2.0 was held in Wellington last week and I was lucky enough to be a part of the whole crazy thing. It was very, very good. I went along to help my friends and hang out, and came away completely reinvigorated and inspired about my practise, my craft, and my motivation.

The speakers – Kate MacPherson, Fiona Anderson, Jake Thomas, Mike Hill, Oli Sansom, Bayly & Moore, and Emma and Pete – are all extraordinary folks and gave generously their passion, their knowledge, and their wisdom. I super enjoyed hearing them speak, but perhaps even more just hanging with them and picking their creative minds, seeing what made them tick, and having a great big load of fun and sillyness. There is little more stimulating than spending time with fantastic people. I really value the opportunity to talk about what we are, what we do, and how we do it with other photographers that share my passion. It really is food for the soul, fire in the belly, and grist for the inspiration mill.
